Why separate
- Bidder operates freely. It restructures campaigns, shifts budgets, and pauses ads on its own judgment (every plan still needs your approval). In a shared account that means stepping on the setup you run by hand.
- Clean data. Bidder’s performance readout stays unpolluted by your manual campaigns — you can actually see what it’s earning you.
- Blast-radius control. Experiments stay contained in Bidder’s account; your proven manual campaigns keep running untouched.
The trade-offs, honestly
- Cold start. A fresh account has no history, so Meta’s learning starts from zero. Expect a less efficient first week or two.
- New-account limits. Brand-new accounts can face conservative spending behavior until Meta builds trust. This resolves itself with delivered campaigns and successful payments.
- Account creation limits. New portfolios can only create one ad account (rising to 3 after the first delivered, paid campaign). If you’re at your limit, sharing your existing account is fine — Bidder will work alongside carefully.
How to create it
1
Create the account in your existing portfolio
Follow Create an ad account — same portfolio, new account. Name it something obvious like “Acme — Bidder”.
2
Attach payment
New account = payment method needs adding again, even if your other account has one.
3
Reconnect in the app
Back in the Media Buyer chat, tell Bidder it’s ready (or click Continue with Facebook again) and tick the new account in Meta’s dialog.
Same Page, same pixel: the dedicated account can (and usually should) run ads under your existing Page and reuse your existing pixel — separation applies to campaigns and budgets, not to your brand identity or conversion data.
