# Reconnect an expired Facebook login

> Fix the "Facebook access has expired" banner in two minutes

Facebook access tokens granted through personal logins last about **60 days**. When one expires, the Media Buyer page shows a *"Facebook access has expired — reconnect to keep syncing"* banner, data sync stops, and Bidder can't launch or manage ads until it's refreshed.

<Note>The app warns you a week before expiry. Nothing is lost when a token expires — campaigns keep running on Meta's side; Bidder just loses its keys until you reconnect.</Note>

## Reconnect

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Media Buyer page">
    Find the Business Manager card with the expiry banner and click **Reconnect** (or ask Bidder in chat — it will show the connect card).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Continue with Facebook">
    Log in with the same profile that connected originally (it needs full control of the business portfolio). In Meta's dialog, keep the same ad accounts and Pages ticked.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Done">
    The token refreshes in place — accounts, settings, history, and Bidder's setup are all untouched. Sync resumes on the next cycle.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## If reconnecting doesn't work

* **Password changed / security event:** Meta invalidates tokens when the connecting person changes their password or triggers a security review. Reconnecting issues a fresh one — this is normal.
* **Person left the company:** whoever reconnects needs full control of the portfolio. Grant it in [Business Settings → Users → People](https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings), then reconnect with their login.
* **Accounts missing after reconnect:** they weren't ticked in Meta's dialog — run the reconnect again and select them.
