# Reminders: Follow-ups on Your Schedule

> Ask a cat to check something again later — it comes back to the same chat with fresh numbers

A lot of marketing is waiting well. A test needs three days of data before it means anything. A seasonal creative is made in September and matters in December. A funnel change needs real traffic before anyone can judge it. Reminders let you hand that waiting to the team.

Ask [Roy](/team/roy), [Crea](/team/crea), or [Opti](/team/opti) to check something again later, and at the time you pick the **same chat** gets the check-in: the cat re-reads the conversation, pulls fresh data with its tools, tells you what it found and what it recommends next. You get an email, and the check-in sits under **Reports → Reminders** until you dismiss it.

## How to ask

Just say it in the chat where the thing lives. Three ingredients make a good ask:

1. **What** to check — name the creative, funnel, test, or metric.
2. **When** — "in 3 days", "next Friday", "on Nov 20", "in 6 hours". Day-level asks fire at 9:00 in your timezone unless you name a time.
3. **What you're hoping to see** — the threshold or question that decides the next step.

> ✅ *"Remind me in 3 days to look at the price-anchor test — I want to know if CPA got under \$18, and what to do with those creatives next."*
>
> ✅ *"We made the Christmas set early. Remind me on Nov 20 to circle back and refresh the copy."*
>
> ✅ *"Check the paywall test in a week and tell me whether the shorter quiz is winning."*
>
> ❌ *"remind me later"* — the cat will ask what and when, then set it.

The cat confirms with a card in the chat showing what it will check and exactly when. You can cancel from that card, from the Reminders tab, or by saying *"cancel that reminder"*.

## When to use one

* **A test you launched and want to follow up on.** Ask for the check-in *with the analysis*: "look at the numbers in 3 days and tell me what to do with this creative next." The cat does the read *and* the recommendation — an iteration, a copy fix, or leave it alone.
* **Seasonal work made ahead of time.** Christmas creatives in September, a Black Friday funnel in October. Set the reminder for the week they matter so nothing sits forgotten.
* **A change that needs traffic before it can be judged.** A new paywall, a shorter quiz, a swapped hook. Give it the time it needs, then have Opti or Crea judge it with real data.
* **Anything you'd otherwise put on a sticky note.** "Re-read the audience set once we've spent \$500", "ask Roy for new angles once the current batch has a week of data."

## Which cats take reminders

| Cat | Where to ask | Typical check |
| -------- | ----------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| **Roy** | the project chat | portfolio and test-level reads, what to do next |
| **Crea** | a creative's chat | that creative's performance and iterations |
| **Opti** | a funnel's chat | step rates, checkout, paywall tests |

[Bidder](/team/bidder) doesn't take reminders — it already runs every day on its own schedule and reports on the Media Buyer page.

## Where the answer lands

1. **In the chat you asked from.** The check-in appears as a note followed by the cat's answer, so the whole thread — the ask, the wait, the result — reads in one place.
2. **In your inbox.** One email per reminder, with the first lines of the answer and a link to the chat. Managed with the other email updates in [notification settings](https://app.mad-kitty.dev/notification-settings).
3. **Under Reports → Reminders.** Pending reminders (cancel or check now) and delivered ones (open, dismiss) live there until you clear them.

## Good to know

* **Give ad tests three days.** Earlier than that the numbers are mostly noise. If you ask for sooner, the cat says so — and sets what you asked.
* **Reminders are yours to set.** The cats may *suggest* a follow-up ("want me to check this again on Thursday?"), but nothing is scheduled until you say yes.
* **One-shot, not recurring.** A reminder fires once. For "every morning" work, use the built-in automations under Reports → Automations. If you want another check after this one, ask for it when the first one comes back.
* **Moving a reminder** is cancel-and-set: "cancel that reminder, make it Monday instead."

<Note>
**Rule of thumb:** if you catch yourself thinking *"I should look at this again in a few days"*, say it to the cat instead. That sentence is the whole reminder.
